Here is a quick Tutorial of
Background Removal.
Step 1
Open your
image
First of all you have to open an image that you want to edit
by removing its background. Here, we're using a simple photograph of a Mannequin
to demonstrate.
Step 2
Make your
selection
Right after opening your desired image, you have to make a
selection. There are various tools you can use to make a selection, but the
easy to get tools to use are the Quick Selection Tool and the Magic Wand Tool for
beginners. There's another tool called the Lasso tool which is applied to be
more accurate but it takes a longer to be used.
Here we're using the Quick Selection tool for example, which
is in the tools panel.
By pressing the shift key make sure you are applying the
Quick Selection tool with the '+' in the centre of it.
Point out the backdrop that you would like to eradicate by
hitting it off and pointing around the area. If you unintentionally point any
part that you didn't want to, click the Alt key on the keyboard to apply the
'-' Quick Selection tool and undo it from the previous selection.
You have to be a little bit of precise with things like
hair, fur and other critical things, though you can process the edges later.
After getting your selection done, click the right button
and then click on 'Select inverse'.
Step 3
Add a
layer mask
See the bottom of the layers panel now click the 'Add Layer
Mask' button, and you will see that the background is already gone.
Do not worry if it does not look great now, to refine it you
can use the Mask Edge tool.
Step 4
Refine the
mask's edge
By double clicking on the mask in your layers panel you will
see 'Mask Edge' and the Refine Mask menu.
Now here, to improve its appearance you can make adjustments
to the mask.
At this instant, click show radius. You will first need to
adjust the radius slider; you can see that the radius is picking up all of the
stray furs or hairs and to get rid of the backdrop between them. To go back to
the Refine Mask preview uncheck show radius.
Apply the sliders to fix the mask until you get the look you
wanted.
You also can change the view mode by clicking the blue arrow
after that to the thumbnail image and choosing from the drop down menu.
Step 5
Add a new
background
To add your image to a new
background, by opening up the background image on Photoshop and then drag the
cut out Mannequin image onto the background.
In this above tutorial you have got
all the important ingredients. But reduce time and cost you can choose us to remove background from images.
Again will meet up with some new
tutorial till then try on your own.
